NSCDC Arrested 62 fake NYSC ‘Corps Members’ in Nasarawa State

NSCDC  - The Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps  recently discovered a counterfeit NYSC Orientation Camp in Tammah village at Nassarawa Local Government Area of Nassarawa State. 62 fake ‘corps members’ were discovered in the same NYSC Camp.

It was reported that the fake camp was to operate for just a day, in which all the fake ‘corps members’ would take pictures with the NYSC crested vests and other kits and be likely issued with fake certificates for future references.

The fake ‘corps members’ discovered and arrested consist of 44 females and 18 males. They were paraded by the NSCDC state commandant, Mr Andekin Amos Musa, who said that the routine surveillance of the command made the arrest possible.

He added that the four drivers who conveyed them to the village, and the photographer hired for the illicit job, were also arrested.

He said, “The suspected fake ‘corps members’ were arrested at the outskirts of Nassarawa Town near the Government Secondary School. Investigations are still on, and as soon as they are concluded, they will be charged to court."

“So far, our investigations reveal that one Chinedu is the coordinator and director of the fake camp. We also discovered that the fake ‘corps members’ paid sums ranging from N120, 000 to N200, 000 before being admitted to the camp."

“I want to warn parents and guardians to watch their wards very closely so as to curb their excesses.”

Some of the suspects who were interviewed claimed to be running evening classes at the University of Jos, Jos, Plateau State.

Most of the fake NYSC 'corp. members' claimed ignorance of the fact that the camp was a fake camp, saying they were lured into it out of desperation as without an NYSC discharge certificate, one would not be able to secure a job in future.

It was previously reported that the NSCDC had recently arrested and paraded fake corps members caught at two different other fake camps preparing for orientation and induction at the outskirts of the same state.

The big questions here are; what is this Country turning to? Why are people this desperate? Where is the government of this country failing in their responsibilities?

Alamieyeseigha's Pardon : Bill Gates Cancels Previously Planned Trip To Nigeria

Bill Gates the richest Microsoft Boss just concealed his previously scheduled 27th March official visit to Nigeria in response to the controversial political pardon granted by President Goodluck Jonathan to ex-convicts Diepreye Alamieyeseigha and Shettima Bulama, according to PREMIUM TIMES.

Authoritative diplomatic sources said that trip was cancelled, two days shortly after the U.S. Government expressed disappointment with Nigeria for pardoning convicted money launderers and warned it might cut aid meant for the country.

"I can confirm to you that Mr. Gates won't be coming as scheduled," sources reportedly claimed Monday morning. "The body language of Washington D.C. does not support his travelling to Nigeria. The thinking here is that the Nigerian government has high tolerance level for corruption and should be ostracized in all ways possible."

Sources said Bill Gates has already instructed his staff to inform the Nigerian presidency, the secretariat of the Nigeria Governors' Forum and the Federal Ministry of Health that he was no longer coming.
Only God knows what the visit of the richest man would have yielded for the Nigerian Government Agency involved. What do you think about this controversial political pardon to Alamieyeseigha and others?
