Strange: Man sets His Wife Ablaze For Abandoning Him

Strange: Man sets His Wife Ablaze For Abandoning Him

Strange things keep happening in our society day in day out. While some say it's frustration, some put the blame on the devil. Either frustration or the devil, the truth is that the end is near and we should all be preparing to exit this world.
Adesanmoye Kehinde, a jilted husband  expressed his frustration after he was abandoned by his woman, Jean Odegba, 29 years, by setting her ablaze in Ikotun, Lagos State. He poured some petrol on her and lit a match to set her ablaze.
Although the wife was rescued, she suffered severe burns and she is now lying critically ill at the hospital.
The victim claimed that the husband enjoyed every benefit from her as his wife and yet he did not pay a dime to her family as dowry after repeated promises to do so.

She therefore decided to quit the four-year relationship for another man who was ready to marry her. But Kehinde insisted that she must not leave her and threatened to deal with her if she left. To prove to her that he meant the threat, he set her ablaze at the popular Ikotun round about and fled.

According to the victim, he threatened to deal with her, but she did not know he planned to set her ablaze. On the day of the incident she was going to see a friend and unknown to her Kehinde was trailing her. On getting to the Ikotun roundabout, he poured some petrol on her, lit a match and set her ablaze. She was rushed to a hospital where she has been on admission.

Kehinde who was later arrested and is now in prison custody, hails from Ondo State Southwest Nigeria while his estranged wife is from Edo State, Southsouth Nigeria. P.M.NEWS gathered that the estranged lovers had been living together as husband and wife at 2 Olaoluwa Street, Abaranje, Ikotun. The suspect was charged to Ejgbo Magistrate’s Court, Lagos on a two-count charge under section 243 and 244 of the Criminal Code Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria 2011.

When the charge was brough against him, he pleaded 'not guilty'. The prosecutor, ASP Nicholas Atunmonye objected his bail. He told the court that he was wicked to have set his wife ablaze. He added that if he was allowed to go, it will send wrong signal to the society and the victim was still lying critically ill at a hospital. The presiding magistrate, Mrs. M. B. Folami ordered him to be remanded in prison custody at Kirikiri, Apapa, Lagos pending the outcome of the medical report of his wife's illness.

The court matter was adjourned till 24th September, 2012 when the killer husband will know his fate. Naija-Things Blog Admin wants to encourage all men to be careful of how they react to family issues. Don't go to the estream.

"Yahoo Boys Now Use My Name To Commit Fraud On Facebook" - Pastor E.A. Adeboye

"Yahoo Boys Now Use My Name To Commit Fraud On Facebook" - Pastor E.A. Adeboye

It is no longer news that fraudulent activities in Nigeria have taken new shapes. Fraudsters now use every means to carry out their activities. One of the new forms is the use of facebook, a social media network site to defraud people.

Recently, the well respected Pastor and General Oversea of The Redeemed Christian Church Pastor E.A. Adeboye warns and advise people to be careful of their responds to message posted on facebook in his name.

“Please be very careful what you easily fall for. There are some persons going around creating false Facebo9ok pages or names, claiming they are Pastor E. A. Adeboye."
Pastor Adeboye says these fraudsters demand innocent members of the public to pay certain amount of money to a bank account.

Adeboye urged everyone to verify the authenticity of messages credited to him before responding to such instructions.
Daddy GO, as he's fondly called, said "They search for people on facebook, add them and then pretend to be me, telling them to send some money into an account and because they know you will obey me, they are using this as a new form of fraud.”

"Please stop them and report those pages to Facebook so they can be stopped.” Says Pastor Adeboye
Adeboye says “a member of the church had reported to me on how he had been ordered by an impersonator to pay certain sums of money into a bank account for a trip to India.”
If you are one of those using the image of this man of God to defraud people, we advise you to stop before the judgment of God comes on you. We also advise you our readers to beware and verify instructions you respond to on social media network sites.

Corruption in Nigeria: A Bauchi Politician's Son sits on N100 Million

Corruption in Nigeria: As corruption continues to eat deep into Nigeria's Economy, Politicians and their family are beginning to go mad and careless in their display of wealth and lavishness in spending public funds. Here is a son of a Bauchi state Politician displaying 'too much of money spirit' by sitting on about N100 million funds his father must have stolen from the public funds. Educational Sector and Agricultural plantation funds meant for the people of Bauchi State must have suffered. No wonder some people in that state still school under the tree.

Patrick Obahiagbon blows Grammar again on Naija Democracy

Patrick Obahiagbon blows Grammar again on Naija Democracy

Patrick Obahiagbon an ex-law Senator in Nigeria popular known for taught provoking "big" grammar has done it again. See what Patrick Obahiagbon has to say about Nigeria bad leadership and wrong practice of democracy.

"A celebration of democracy or a deprecable apotheosis of an haemorrhaging plutocracy, cascading into a mobocracy with all the ossifying proclivities of a kakistocracy? With our "democracy" enveloped in a paraplegic crinkum-crankum, we must all rise up to bring to focal hiceps and biceps, Nigeria's "Pluto-mobo-kakistocracy".... Certainly not democracy!"

Na wa ooooo. Let someone help to interpret what this man is trying to say.

UNILAG Students protest continues | People who speak against the protest

UNILAG Students protest continues | People who speak against the protest

Following the naming ceremony of University of Lagos to Moshood Abiola University by The Federal Government of Nigeria on 29th May, 2012, The Students of UNILAG have been on the street of Lagos protesting against this pronouncement by President Goodluck Jonathan. The Students today blocked the Third Mainland Bridge to show their disagreement with the ‘meaningless change of name’.

Many have been reacting to this protest by UNILAG Students both positively and negatively. Here is a comments from one of the many people that go against the protest by the Students.
“Freedom of speech, but not insult, is the hallmark of democracy, all these blackberry students should better face their studies. When did naming and renaming of schools become the prerogative of students. Imagine how some posters think, UNILAG is swagzz, is a brand, sounds international and all those rubbish talk. Is that the problem of UNILAG and other universities in the country. What do you expect when they have turned an academic environment into a social entertainment complex. Is this the first time such renaming happened? Students of this generation have lost focus and lack priorities. In a community where there is inadequate facilities, gross underfunding, lack of power, water, teaching aids, research grants, project sponsorships and scholarships, what the students protest about is what doesn't add value to their degrees and lives. I weep for Nigerian youths for having lost the intellectual capacity to intelligently discourse issues, analyze situations, draw deductions, make projections, prefer solutions and take actions that can bring positive change and add meanings to their lives. It is a shame they are even on the street at all when they sat back while their future is being eaten away by the political class. In my generation, students led protest against repressive govt policies and actions. Anti SAP riots was a glorious show of peoples power orchestrated by NANS. Not any more, what we have now is cultism, ashawoism, commercialisationism, showbizism. Student power is dead and with it peoples power .
Please UNILAG/MAU students should go back to their hostels o! Before you know it, thugs will hijack this protest which i'm sure isn't coordinated and innocent girls and boys will be Molested, people will be robbed, injured and the police will start shooting at people and later claim they shot in the air. Its just a name change after four or five years you go waka leave am ,remember when IFE was changed to OAU, it was difficult at first, but today is pronounced freely, the same will be applicable here, you all will get used to newest brand someday.”

At 15, This Naija Boy Build A Driving Generator Car!

At 15, This Naija Boy Build A Driving Generator Car!

What we lack in Nigeria most of the time is not talented people but supports to encourage the talented people we have on the streets. If this Nigerian kid could do this at age 15, imagine what could come of out of him when he is 25. It is high time we started encouraging young Nigerians with talents like this or else, we keep selling off our virtues to the western world.

This boy rides his driving generator car along one Express road in Abuja. Naija-Things hope to get more info about this boy and post here for people who may want to support his idea.

Please, share this with as many people as possible.

JAMB Releases UTME 2012 Results Withholding 25,169

JAMB Releases UTME 2012 Results Withholding 25,169

JAMB Results: The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) releases UMTE (Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination) 2012 result conducted 24th March, 2012. 25,169 candidates’ results were withheld for different reasons.

The Registrar of JAMB, Professor Dibu Ojerinde who announced the release of the result in Abuja said the decision to withhold the results was based on allegation of extortion by those he described as greedy supervisors and proprietors in 52 centres across the federation.

"In the 2012 UTME, we had some disturbing news of extortion of innocent candidates by greedy proprietors, supervisors and invigilators. We assure the public that all these persons would be brought to book, just as I make bold to say that JAMB will not spare any culpable persons."

He said results were withheld in 24 centres in Rivers State, followed by Lagos with 11, Imo 6, Benue 3, Cross River 2, Delta 2 and Nasarawa 1.

The JAMB registrar said the board was currently investigating the issue and that the results would either be released or canceled within the next two weeks "depending on the outcome of its findings."

A breakdown of the results showed that out of 1,384,644 results released, only about 72,243 scored above 250 with three candidates scoring above 300, while 336,330 candidates had less than 169.

Ojerinde stated that the exam which took place in 3,001 centres in 375 towns in Nigeria and six foreign countries was a huge success, adding that the introduction of bio-metrics and thumb printing helped in eradicating impersonation and exam malpractices. "Examination malpractice is going down; we recorded less than one percent."

While noting that in 2012, the board discovered new tricks where candidates embedded handsets into their shoes, Ojerinde added, "we also know that those engaging in exams malpractice will not stop at nothing in achieving their aims; we say no matter how smart they think they are, they would be fished out."

According to the registrar, a total of 1,503,931 candidates sat for the 2012 UTME of which 140 are visually impaired. He said 49 Albinos, whom he disclosed were given special treatment, while about 181 prisoners - mainly from the Kaduna and Ikoyi prisons - also took part.

Further statistics revealed that 833,082 of the candidates (55.78%) were males while 660,522 (44.22%) were females.

Ojerinde disclosed that Imo, Delta, Anambra, Osun, Oyo, Ogun states in that order, had the highest number of applicants, while the FCT, Sokoto, Zamfara, Yobe, Kebbi and Jigawa in that order were the states with the lowest number of applicants.

Ojerinde, while advising candidates to check their results on the internet using scratch cards earlier used during registration, said a committee would be set up in June to determine this year's cut-off point.

He said many candidates are denied admissions beca-use of their choice of course, institution and attitude noting that the University of Lagos had 83,865 applicants but could only accommodate about 9,507.

Ojerinde said: "The UTME was created in 2012 in order to increase access to tertiary education. However, our experience this time is consistent with the previous trends - that Nigerians have a higher preference for universities ahead of other tertiary institutions."

Research: Did you know receiving calls on the right ear affects your brain negatively?

Recent studies show that radiation from cell phones can damage brain cells in the long run.

When you make or receive calls on your mobile phone, always use your LEFT EAR alone, try to avoid using the RIGHT EAR, as that makes your brain more prone to mobile radiation. This was found out by a latest research from Apollo Hospital Medical Team.
