A 22 year old Lady becomes Nigeria’s Youngest Lecturer

Name: Miss Adejoke Ogunlana

Age: 22 years

Profession: Teaches Chemistry at Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijebu Ode, Ogun State.

Adejoke Ogunlana graduated from the same University in year 2009 with a first class in her discipline.  She concluded she will be a teacher while in School, so it was a dream comes true for her when the Institute offered her lecturing job appointment after her graduation. The young lecturer speaks of her challenges as a young lecturer and the general opinion of people about teaching job.

Call it teaching or lecturing, only a few Nigerian youths are likely to celebrate a teaching or lecturing appointment. The general belief is that teaching is not on the list of lucrative jobs in the country. In fact many see it as a job you opt for when efforts at getting better jobs fail. The case is different for Adejoke Ogunlana.
